The Jester's Royal Mistake

The Jester's Royal Mistake was a game project developed by 2 people over 3 months. I was the Artist in charge of all the art assets, characters, textures and technical art as well as the Project Manager.

This is a turn-based narrative game where you take on the role of a medieval royal jester, who accidentally kills the king with a deadly joke. Forced to escape, she finds herself stuck in the castle's underground.
The three main spaces the Jester explores through her adventure in the basement are the kitchen (shown above), the cleaning room (characterized by its large wash basin) and the main hall (where you will find nothing but an outhouse).
For this project, it was necessary to create modular set pieces, creating a visual identity that unites all the spaces.
Here are some of the main assets that were created to give life to the environment.
To enhance my learning experience, I was encouraged to dive deep into material creation within Substance Designer. These textures are a work in progress, as I did not have as much time as I would have liked to polish their different maps.
